WS Coachworks Ltd is looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join our commercial vehicle repair centre in Welham Green, Hatfield, Hertfordshire.

The successful candidate will have proven experience working in a workshop environment and must supply their own hand tools. An HGV driving licence and forklift truck licence are required. The role also requires experience in vehicle diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and electrical work, with the ability to confidently strip vehicles, identify parts, and arrange parts ordering when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out HGV inspections
• Performing brake roller tests
• Preparing vehicles for MOT tests
• Conducting repairs and routine servicing
• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults

The ideal candidate must be able to work both independently and as part of a team. The role involves physical tasks, including lifting heavy components, so a good level of fitness is required. Reliability, motivation, and the ability to maintain a clean and organised workspace are essential, along with a strong commitment to quality workmanship and attention to detail.

This is a hands-on role that requires practical experience using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and strong mechanical knowledge of vehicles. The successful candidate will have previous experience working in a workshop environment, particularly with panel repair work, and will be confident in vehicle stripping, parts identification, and carrying out repairs.
